PR: Caroline Van Kirk Bissell to Appear on 'Chautauqua People'

Caroline Van Kirk Bissell is the next person to appear on Chautauqua People.
The program will air at 1:30 and 7:30 PM each day beginning on August 20, with the last airing on August 26.
Caroline Van Kirk Bissell, Chautauqua's 'bat lady' was born in Pittsburgh, PA and began spending her summers at the Chautauqua Institution in 1946 when bats were extremely plentiful in the area. After growing up with and being comfortable around them, she was requested in 2000 to take over the Bird, Tree, and Garden weekly 'bat chats'. She has given 'bat chats' to Chautauqua audiences, book clubs, garden clubs, church groups, Road Scholars, and private family groups during the past 16-years.
She has participated in bat studies on the Amazon River in Brazil, Australia, and Chiricahua Mountains of Arizona.
Caroline will be interviewed by Chautauqua People Producer John Viehe.
Access Channel 5 (QAM channel 5.3 without a converter) is available to cable viewers in the Mayville, Chautauqua, North Harmony, Sherman, Westfield and Portland areas.
