All the new programming for the week of August 5, featuring Chautauqua Sunrise, Fresh Perspectives, Chautauqua People, Industrial Wind Turbine Debate and the latest Chautauqua Institution Lecture Series 2016!

This week's Chautauqua lecture is Shareda Hosein, "The Compassionate Side of Jihad: Strengthening the Soul," at 7:00 AM and 12:00 AM.

Chautauqua Sunrise, hosted by Doc Hamels, will feature members of the Chautauqua Leadership Network as his guests. The program airs live county-wide on various access channels at 9:00 AM on Saturday only, then repeats at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Access Channel 5.

Chautauqua People features guest Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, artistic director of the dance program at Chautauqua Institution and retiring president and artistic director of the Charlotte Ballet. The show is hosted by John Viehe and will air at 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Fresh Perspectives host Gail Erb will interview Marshall Greenstein whom will discuss mental health, marital and family therapy. The show airs at 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

At 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM a Chautauqua County League of Women Voters sponsored debate on industrial wind turbines in rural Chautauqua County will air. Dr. Mark Twichell represented concerned citizens (Preservation of Agricultural Land Serenity/Concerned Citizens Cassadaga Wind Project) versus David Alicea of the Sierra Club. The event was held at JCC North, July 19, 2017.

All programming starts on Saturday, August 5 and runs through Friday, August 11.

Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on channel 5 with a cable converter or on 5.3 on digital televisions without a cable converter.
