PR: Access Channel 5 Programming for March 17-23

All the new programming for the week of March 17, featuring Chautauqua Sunrise, Defenders of Freedom, Fresh Perspectives and an interview of Mark Russell by Paul Anthony.

"Defenders of Freedom" shares the first hand experiences of WWII veterans in the Western NY and Northwestern PA areas. Hosted and filmed at the Jackson Center in Jamestown NY, the project is a collaborative effort between the Center, the United Veterans Council, Chautauqua County Office of Veterans Services and local WWII authors and historians, Rolly Kidder and Phil Zimmer. Louise Hill will be interviewed this week and will be aired at 12:30 PM and 6:30 PM.

Mark Russell will be interviewed by Paul Anthony at 12:55 PM and 6:55 PM. The interview was conducted at the Chautauqua Mens' Club in the Methodist House.

Chautauqua Sunrise, hosted by Doc Hamels, will have guest Melanie Witowski from CASAC. The program airs live county-wide on various access channels at 9:00 AM on Saturday only, then repeats at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Access Channel 5.

Fresh Perspectives, hosted by Gail Erb, will have a Vegan cooking demonstration presented by Anne Dinshah. The program will be at 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Repeat programming is typically re-aired throughout the week at other various time slots.

All programming starts on Saturday, March 17 and continues until Friday March 23.

Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on channel 5 with a cable converter or on 5.3 on digital televisions without a cable converter.
