All the new programming for the week of April 28, featuring Chautauqua Sunrise, Defenders of Freedom, the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new ER at the Westfield Memorial Hospital and Fresh Perspectives.

"Defenders of Freedom" shares the first hand experiences of WWII veterans in the Western NY and Northwestern PA areas. Hosted and filmed at the Jackson Center in Jamestown NY, the project is a collaborative effort between the Center, the United Veterans Council, Chautauqua County Office of Veterans Services and local WWII authors and historians, Rolly Kidder and Phil Zimmer. Featured this week at 12:30 PM and 6:30 PM will be Felix Pulinski, Fletcher Shultz, Frank Stefanelli, and Thomas Kyser.

Westfield Memorial Hospital's Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Emergency Department upgrade will be shown at 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM. After a 14-month* fundraising effort by the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation’s RED (Renovate our Emergency Department) campaign, the group raised $650,000 for the ER renovation.

Chautauqua Sunrise, hosted by Doc Hamels, will have guest Catharine Young, NYS Senator on his 200th show special. The program airs live at 9:00 AM on Saturday only, then repeats at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Fresh Perspectives with Gail Erb will feature Jim and Pat Reno discussing pottery. The program is at 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Repeat programming is typically re-aired throughout the week at other various time slots.

All programming starts on Saturday, April 28 and continues until Friday, May 4.

Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on channel 5 with a cable converter or on 5.3 on digital televisions without a cable converter. Spectrum Cable will be relocating the station to channel 1301 in the near future.
